About

Welcome to Korean English Lab (KEL) — a small studio dedicated to making Korean language learning fun, practical, and accessible for learners around the world.

Our Story

KEL was founded by Minhyung Cha, a language educator with 25 years of experience teaching Korean and over 15 years running an English language academy in South Korea. Alongside teaching, Minhyung has traveled extensively both within Korea and abroad, gaining first-hand knowledge of the destinations, customs, and practical travel situations featured in our guides. After decades of working directly with students, parents, and teachers, Minhyung decided to bring that classroom experience online — creating bilingual worksheets, flash cards, travel guides, and learning resources that make Korean approachable for everyone, whether you’re a curious traveler, a homeschooling parent, or a dedicated language learner.

What We Do

We create original, hands-on Korean learning materials, including:

  • Phonics flash cards for beginners learning Hangul
  • Travel phrase guides for visitors exploring Korea
  • Worksheets and bundles for classrooms and home learners
  • Blog articles covering practical Korean phrases, culture tips, and travel advice

Our materials are available on Etsy and Teachers Pay Teachers, and we’re always working on new resources based on real classroom experience.

Our Philosophy

Language learning shouldn’t feel intimidating. Every resource we create is designed to be practical first — the kind of phrases and lessons you’ll actually use, whether you’re ordering food in Busan or teaching your child their first Korean words.
